It has been announced that Sir Alan Sugar is the new 'face of Apprenticeships'! As a supporter of the programme and a high profile employer of apprentices himself, Sir Alan will be featured in the advertising campaign for Apprenticeships, which runs from 2 February to 1 March 2009 and which aims to encourage more employers to offer Apprenticeships across all sectors.
Four high profile events for employers will be taking place in February and March 2009 and the North East is lucky enough to be hosting one. The plan is for Sir Alan Sugar and both John Denham and Ed Balls, Secretaries of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills and for Children, Schools and Families, to speak at all four events. The events, which are also taking place in Leeds, Birmingham and London will be Apprenticeship branded and will include presentations and Q&A sessions. The exact dates and venues are still to be confirmed. Watch this space
