Connexions Hub are Matrix Excellence Award Winners

The Matrix Excellence Awards are held to identify and celebrate those Matrix accredited organisations that are an outstanding example of what can be achieved by following the Matrix Standard. Competition is tough and each application goes through a rigorous judging process.

Connexions Hub Services, which delivers central support to local Connexions teams and partner organisations, was recently awarded this prestigious Award in London having demonstrated significant benefit to the organisation in using the Matrix Standard. It is the only organisation in the North East to receive the 2009 Excellence Award. This is a particularly welcome achievement for staff who have undergone change and uncertainty during the disaggregation of the Connexions Service.

The IAG Service for adults, New Pathways, which operates as part of the Hub Services organisation, had previously been accredited to the Matrix Standard and was able to share this experience and a review of all internal and external services was undertaken. A good example of staff contribution to improvement was the formation of a well being group in response to a request for more consultation. The review of this new organisation has resulted in staff feeling involved in shaping the future at a time of significant change.
