Dear all,
Please find attached a booking form and flyer about a forthcoming event for Progression Coaches, Mentors or other staff supporting progression in Schools and Colleges. The event sees the launch of 'It helps to know the crack', a research report commissioned by Aimhigher TWN and undertaken by Dr Lesleyann Morgan with support from practitioners carrying out this type of role in schools and colleges across Tyne and Wear.
To provide some context to Aimhigher which is of particular relevance to schools and colleges, the event will benefit from input provided by Malcolm Craddock, an Educational Research Consultant who has worked on 2 projects commissioned by Aimhigher North East (the regional tier of the Aimhigher programme which was discontinued at the end of July 2008).
The event will provide practitioners, or anyone interested in this type of role with an overview of the research, the opportunity to discuss the recommendations it makes and an opportunity to influence the implementation of any recommendations across Tyne and Wear and Northumberland. It will also help to shape ways in which a 'community of practice' could be established for practitioners in this field as well as providing an opportunity to meet others working in a similar or related role.
Places at the event are limited so early booking is recommended. Please forward this information to any colleagues you feel may be interested.
Cheers
sarah
